Mr. Andrew Besa

My name is Andrew Besa.  I was elected to the board on November 3, 2015 I will serve our students, teachers & members of our community to the best of my ability. My wife and I were married fifty years. We were blessed with three sons, two of whom graduated from Natalia. I was born and raised in San Antonio.  I graduated from Brackenridge High School and obtained my bachelors of arts degree from Pan American University, my teaching certificates from the University of Texas at San Antonio and my master’s degree in business administration from Webster University.  I’ve lived in Natalia for thirty-two years.

From 1964 to 1966 I worked as an orderly at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in San Antonio.  From 1966 to 1991 I worked as an Engineer for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.  From 1991-1995 I worked as a consulting engineer to Telefonosde Mexico for Southwestern Bell International. From 1995-1999 I worked as a teacher in the Alvin Independent School District. From 2000 to 2011 I worked as a teacher for the Natalia Independent School District.  From 2011 to present I work for the Education Service Center Region 20.

My sense of community involvement has always been strong. In high school I was president of the Science Club.  Later I served as president of my Communication Workers of America local union. Finally, during my time as a teacher at Natalia ISD I served as president of the Natalia Athletic Booster Club.  In the past I was a member of the Lions Club.  Today I belong to the knights of Columbus.  I volunteer to be the assistant Golf Coach as well as the Chess club for the Elementary, Junior & High School.

I invite every member of our community to join me in making our schools the envy of all the surrounding educational establishments.
