Degrees and Certifications:
I was born and raised in Devine Texas; I attended Devine ISD. Being a member of many events as well as I played the flute in the high school band. When deciding the career path I was going to pursue, I worked at a daycare where I fell in love with teaching children and decided that I wanted to become a teacher. My goal is to teach children in order for them to grow into being successful leaders.
I attained my associates’ degree at Northwest Vista Community College and continued to obtain my bachalors degree at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. I am a graduate of 2020 and decided to go back to my hometown where I decided to trade my Warhorse Maroon for Mustang Blue and become a 1st grade teacher.
While I am new to the NISD family, my family is not. My grandmother, mom, and stepfather are all NISD graduates and my Aunt, Ms. Smith has been a teacher at Natalia ISD for 21+ years.
My goal as a new teacher is to concentrate on what I have learned through my education at Sam Houston State and my student teaching of creating a safe, encouraging classroom where it is student centered. I hope to be able to grow students into following their dreams and be able to believe they can reach the stars. I also hope to learn and grow as a teacher during this year to make myself a better teacher for the future.
When I am not teaching, I am at home with my family and our three dogs and one cat watching TV or cooking. I also like writing stories and playing video games in my free time.
