Ms. Delgado

Hello my name is Vanessa Delgado and I am currently the assistant band director for the Natalia Band Program. I grew up in Altus, Oklahoma and attended college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK where I received my Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Education and Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance. Upon completion of my undergrad, I made the move to San Antonio and began teaching in Natalia in 2016. While in Natalia, I continue to enjoy the challenge of teaching the next generation of young musicians and sharing my passion for the arts. I believe it is important to set the standard high for our students and push them to achieve all their aspirations.  In addition to teaching, I am also a sergeant in the Army Reserves with the 395th Army Band. I travel frequently to destinations such as Oklahoma, Arkansas, Arizona, Hawaii, California, and Alaska all while serving my country through music as an Army Bandsmen. I am an active member of organizations such as the Association of Texas Small School Bands, Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Music Educators Association, and the South Texas Symphonic Orchestra. While staying busy with teaching, the Army, and numerous organizations, I am also working on my Masters in Music Education from Texas Tech University.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, and binge watching Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and the Food Network. I am also a cat mom to 2 cats, Mackey and D.W. who I adore dearly.
